Perfect your Powder Contour in Three Simple Steps

Contouring is a great way to take your makeup to the next level. By shading the areas you wish to minimize, and highlighting the areas you want to accentuate, you can create a contour that emphasizes your best features. Here’s how to do a perfect contour with only mineral makeup:

Step 1: Using an angled blush brush, swirl the head of the brush into a little bit of bronzer tapped into the cap. Take the brush and stroke straight along the underside of your cheekbones.
Note – It helps to make a fishy face while performing this step because that makes it easier to see where your cheekbone line is.
Step 2: Using a blending brush or kabuki brush, lightly blend the bronzer using circular motions, being sure not to go above the cheekbone, creating a more natural-looking shading under the cheekbones. Blending up to your temples and down to your neck will help to frame your face better.
Step 3: Using a luminous finishing powder or a lighter shade of luminous foundation, dip a blending brush into the powder. Apply the powder over the apples of your cheeks and use the blending brush to blend it lightly over your cheekbones. This will create a flattering contrast with the bronzer on your cheeks.

Now you’re done! It can take a little bit of practice to get your contouring exactly how you want it, but it’s pretty easy to learn and will take your face makeup to a whole other level. You’ll be amazed when you see the difference this makes, and how well contouring accents the most flattering features of your face.
