Essential Tips to Upgrade Your Skin Care Routine
Taking care of your skin on a daily basis is incredibly important. Many of you may already have a skin care routine you follow every day. Whether you have a daily skin care routine or not, there is always room for improvement. Here are some skin care tips to make sure you are getting the most out of your skin care routine.
- Don’t under or over-cleanse
Keeping your face clean is a must, especially at night, since leaving makeup on your face can clog your pores while you sleep. Washing your face once at night and once in the morning is the frequency we would recommend, depending on your skin type. If your skin is oily, washing twice a day may be necessary, whereas if you have dry skin, you’ll only want to wash once a day to keep your skin from drying out.
- Exfoliate gently 1–2 times a week
Dead skin cells resting on the surface of your face can hide your healthy skin, block your pores, and deepen the appearance of wrinkles. Using a gentle scrub or a gentle peel, such as glycolic acid, will remove these dead cells from the surface of your skin, but don’t over do it, or you could damage your skin. Once or twice a week will provide plenty of exfoliation to keep your face clear. If your skin is sensitive, stick to exfoliating once a week.

- Use toner
Toner is an often-overlooked product in many people’s skin care regimens. Toner can help to hydrate and balance your skin, nourish it with vitamins and extracts, and enhance the absorption of your other skin care products. For best results, use toner daily after cleansing.
- Make sure your moisturizer is right for your skin type
Knowing your skin type is crucial in making sure your skin care routine is tailored to your skin’s needs. This is the case regarding how often you cleanse and exfoliate, and for what kind of moisturizer you use. If you are prone to dry skin, a rich moisturizer with natural oils can help to nourish and moisturize your skin, but if your skin is oily and acne-prone, it’s best to use an oil-free moisturizer.
- Use a moisturizer with anti-aging ingredients to save time
If you use a moisturizer that has anti-aging ingredients, you can spare yourself the need to use a separate anti-aging cream or serum. There are great options for oily skin or dry skin, including this rich cream with peptides that’s great for dry skin, and this oil-free moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and a complex of B vitamins that is an excellent choice for oily skin.
- Use an eye cream or serum
There are a few reasons to use a specialized eye cream for your eyes in place of your standard moisturizer or anti-aging products. For one, many moisturizers are too rich and heavy for the eye area and can make bags and wrinkles look worse. Additionally, eye creams and serums are formulated with peptides like Eyeseryl, and vitamins that are designed to treat specific eye issues.
